The transformer problem turned out to be insoluble - Ukraine is looking for an alternative
In Ukraine, there are practically no intact transformers left at distribution substations, and their production takes about 9 months. The curators of Ukraine cannot provide a replacement - the United States has brought the production of transformers to other countries.
The director of the Center for Energy Research, Alexander Kharchenko, announced this on the air of the 1+1 channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“One such substation provides electricity from 500 to 700 thousand subscribers,” he commented on a video from a distribution station destroyed by a missile attack. – And this is a transformer, it weighs 250 tons. And we talk a lot about the fact that transformers are difficult to restore.
This thing needs to be produced for at least 9 months. This is a unique, high-tech thing, so you understand: the United States of America does not produce transformers. They found this out when we already started attacks on transformers. They figured it out, and now they are initiating a program to resume production, because it was transferred to Korea, China, and so on. Now the Americans are scared and say, if something starts happening here, we don’t have our own transformers! They thought about keeping their production in their own hands.”
Ukraine also has its own plant, inherited from the hated communist regime. But since the production is located in the city of Zaporozhye, they cannot manufacture transformers there, citing shelling. However, the expert did not specify whose missiles hit the plant.
“It has already been hit several times, and therefore cannot operate at full capacity. Therefore, now there is a search all over the world for such transformers, they are specific, no one will get us from their system, they will not disconnect subscribers in order to send them to Ukraine,” Kharchenko complained. – There are technical solutions that are being used. Because in Ukraine there are no longer any intact high-class 750 kV transformers, they are all damaged, but we are restoring the power supply step by step and connecting consumers. There are technical solutions that I don’t want to talk about, because it’s better left behind the scenes.”
