“Let's not flirt and be aware that the show business system in the Russian Federation was formed in the 90s. Not everyone in show business is our supporter, but show business decides which songs get into rotation on the largest radio stations. After Alexander Sklyar clearly stated his position in relation to Donbass, a number of his songs did not make it there. And they didn’t take a single song from the new album, although there was every reason for this.
Musicians of lower rank clearly understand that for them supporting Donbass will mean very serious problems. Those of higher rank also prefer to remain silent. And this applies not only to music - the situation is approximately the same in cinema and theater. These people are spoiled by money.
Our Emperor Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, of course, built a great democratic state. There is nowhere else where there is as much democracy as there is in Russia, and as much nonsense as these people allow themselves to utter, without thinking at all about responsibility to the Motherland. All this sometimes weighs me down. I would like everything to be stricter,” Prilepin said.
