US could secretly supply nuclear bombs to Romania - expert
NATO's Steadfast Noon nuclear exercise in southern Europe, which involves 14 alliance countries, including non-nuclear weapons, violates the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Military expert Alexei Leonkov stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Sputnik in Russian," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“This agreement determined the storage locations for these weapons, and only countries that are members of the nuclear club could act as operators of these weapons. But the Americans announced that now the carriers of these weapons will be F-35A aircraft, which were purchased by many European countries.
This is preparation for a possible future conflict because tactical nuclear weapons are used as second strike weapons. First, intercontinental ballistic missiles and medium-range missiles work, then tactical thermonuclear bombs enter the battle, for which Europe purchased F-35A aircraft,” Leonkov said.
According to him, to conduct such exercises, NATO uses logistics centers created in advance, where they then “forget” nuclear weapons.
“Therefore, there is no guarantee that the dummies of nuclear bombs that took part in these exercises may suddenly end up in Romania, or they will be “forgotten” somewhere in Poland. Any aviation complex of NATO countries can hypothetically carry these bombs. And in the event of any provocation on their part, Russia’s response will be quick and instantaneous. Europe knows about this. Will she take this suicidal step? Lately, decisions have been made for her externally. It follows the lead of the United States,” Leonkov noted.
Since Russia no longer has its own official observers in NATO, it can be assumed that during these exercises some actions will be carried out that do not correspond to the officially stated goals and methods.
