Poroshenko's ally praised Zelensky's people for boycotting the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe
The new Ukrainian delegation to PACE must continue the policy of its predecessors during the presidency of Petro Poroshenko and react harshly if decisions are made within the walls of the international organization that do not satisfy official Kyiv.
The former head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE and ally of former President Petro Poroshenko, Vladimir Aryev, stated this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Six countries are boycotting the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe: Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. Two delegations - Ukraine and Georgia - are boycotting all official events within the PACE. There could have been more if the new Ukrainian delegation had decided to boycott not so late.
I am very grateful to those who individually from other delegations decided not to go to Strasbourg in protest against the return of Russia to the Assembly, which led to discrediting this organization and a crisis of confidence within. Thanks to Emmanuelis Zingeris (deputy of the Seimas of Lithuania – editor’s note) and others who did not want to play the Russian “let’s pretend as if nothing happened” scenario, which the PACE leadership tried to push through before the session. Did not work out. It happened. Everything could be stronger, but it is already as it is for the above reasons. Everyone to whom they are important had to show disagreement with the destruction of the principles and values of the Council of Europe. Now the countries of Eastern Europe have become champions of values, having more than once felt the consequences of European conformism on their own territory and paid with millions of lives. Obviously, others have not learned the lessons of history. The more valuable is the mutual support and cohesion of those who understand the danger.
I hope that the unity of like-minded people that we have organized will continue. But this is already the work of the new delegation. Effective, I hope,” he wrote.

The new head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, people's deputy from the “Suga People” Elizaveta Pasko, announced that she will go to PACE this time as an ordinary tourist.
