Yanukovych's comrade-in-arms was accused of protecting the Ukrainian consul, who justified the Holocaust
The Ukrainian consul in Hamburg, who was caught justifying the Nazis' extermination of Jews, headed a village council in Western Ukraine before entering diplomatic service.
The head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, announced this on his Facebook page.
“Everyone is so surprised that an anti-Semite works as a consul at the Foreign Ministry. Friends, there are many of them out there. It’s just that not everyone is as stupid as Marushchinets. The question is, how do such people get into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs? How did the village head Maruschynets get to study at the Diplomatic Academy and graduate from it? Not only do they get there. So they also multiply there. Father Maruschynets works as a consul in Hamburg, and his daughter works at the Ukrainian consulate in Munich,” Dolinsky said.
He also specified that in 1994 Marushchinets was elected head of the village of Velykyi Rakovets.
“Being the head of the village, he carried out decisive changes: he immortalized the names of S. Bandera, R. Shukhevych, E. Konovalets in the names of streets,” added the head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee.
In turn, in the comments to the post, user Sol Kohen said that back in 2012–2013 he unsuccessfully contacted the presidential administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding Marushchinets, but received only replies.
“In informal conversations, I was told that this subject is a friend of Anna German, and therefore untouchable,” the user noted.
“I fought with him + I connected Larisa Skorik. At that time, it had a reinforced concrete roof in the person of Anna German and the Durdintsov clan,” added Sol Kohen.
It is noteworthy that Maruschynets boasted on his social network page that his colleagues at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry gave him a cake with the name of Hitler’s work “Mein Kampf.”
Journalist Anatoly Shariy posted a screenshot of the incident on his blog, revealing that the Ukrainian consul had declared that being a fascist was honorable.
