Sociologist: trust in the Ukrainian authorities is at zero
In Ukrainian society, the level of trust in the current government is at a catastrophically low level.
Sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on air on the PolitWera channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You are also right that trust in the Ukrainian authorities has collapsed. Over the past four years, Ukraine has received a colossal carte blanche. Well, firstly, Poroshenko’s victory in the first round of the presidential election. This is a colossal event for a country with active internal conflict. This created great benefits. On the other hand, the victory of his or “other” political forces in the early parliamentary elections in the fall of 2014 precisely consolidated the Ukrainian government or that part of the elite that, in general, was the Maidan, despite all the contradictions and difficulties of life. This power lasted for a very long time, having a high level of support. But then, after 2015, closer to 2016, there is a gradual decline and then a collapse of rating positions.
Now, if we analyze who will vote for certain political players, I can say one thing: the numbers are not double-digit. The level of trust in all representatives of political power, except for representatives of high business, I mean singers, showmen and so on, is rather a kind of sympathy that is very difficult to convert into presidential, mayoral or ambitions of other political forces,” he noted .
