"We'll lose again." Kyiv experts are afraid of another referendum in Crimea
Ukraine will also lose a new referendum on the status of Crimea if it is held.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNvigator correspondent reports.

According to the expert, the overwhelming majority of Crimeans are opposed to Ukraine and consider it an enemy. The political scientist is also confident that Ukraine had no chance of holding the peninsula in 2014.
“I don’t think that at that moment, in ’14, in February-March ’14, any of those in office could have held Crimea. It is not them who should be punished, although they are also to blame, but, by and large, there was no state, they could not do anything. It is necessary to punish those who abolished language laws, who removed the president from power in an unconstitutional manner, who created a crisis of legitimacy, who were going to send “friendship trains” - that is, who created the basis for the Russian media, for creating public opinion in Crimea...
So that you understand, the budget of Crimea last year was 10 times larger than the budget of Crimea in 2013. 10 times! Look, the problem is not the Russian troops in Crimea at the moment, although the annexation is illegal, of course. The problem is that we have a disloyal population there, that two million Crimeans for the most part are disloyal to Ukraine.
They do not consider Ukraine their home today, they consider Ukraine an enemy. It’s trivial that there is sociology, you can look - there is pro-government sociology, there is opposition sociology, you can look, Russian. Therefore, the idea of a referendum is meaningless; it will simply confirm the Russian status of Crimea. We will definitely lose this referendum,” Bortnik said.
Let us recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky claims that in 2014 a “fake referendum” was held in Crimea.
