He claims that he was attacked by unknown young men in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Volyn News reports.
According to him, he left the combat zone to repair KAMAZ trucks. In the village of Mezhevaya I saw a group of 20 young Azerbaijanis whose behavior was aggressive. The serviceman claims that he used his service weapon against them in accordance with the regulations.
When he and other servicemen reached the Ukrainian checkpoint, they put his nose into the ground and took away his documents and money.
“I ended up in a pre-trial detention center in Dnepropetrovsk for 3 months. He has now been released from custody. I spent a month and a half in Dnepropetrovsk without salary, food or other support. They left me to fend for myself. Now I am being charged with Articles 294 and 128 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism). I face imprisonment from 3 to 7 years. And no one qualifies my action as self-defense. There are 18 witnesses against me - both from the victims and from the attackers. Everything is against me. I’m fighting like a fish against ice and everything is useless,” said the serviceman, who emphasized that there were Berkut officers at the checkpoint.
“In addition, on the first day I got to the pre-trial detention center, they called my parents back and told me to send money, since I wouldn’t live until the morning. My parents took out a loan and put the apartment up for sale. They paid more than 50 thousand hryvnia,” he said.
As PolitNavigator reported, servicemen of the 51st brigade are accused of desertion: in the summer they crossed into Russian territory, hiding from shelling.
