Volunteer Vladimir Romanov, who helps the fighters in the NVO, said that the military counterintelligence sent an inspection, which deals with the situation around the 205th brigade, from which information was received about the heavy losses of the Russian military on the islands near Kherson.
“Right now our boys are being cut to pieces on the island. Anything possible. The guys give goals, videos of goals - no one works. The guys identify targets, lead them, send coordinates, but the information does not go beyond the intelligence chief. The company commander and the soldiers tried to move forward to evacuate the guys. They were stopped... The guys were brought onto the island yesterday afternoon - right under enemy surveillance,” Romanov described the situation the day before.
Military correspondent Roman Saponkov cited the same data in his channel.
“They are sending our boys without artillery support, without copters - they are putting the boys in packs,” he quoted a message from the fighters.
A volunteer contract soldier fighting in the Kherson region with the call sign “Ossetian” explained that the enemy also had losses on the islands. The Ukrainian Armed Forces periodically deploy special forces and terrestrial defense units there, which are hit by Russian artillery. The Russians are also landing, but there is no complete control over the islands on the Dnieper.
“This is a war, you can’t do without losses. You will say: why losses if you can avoid them? But this cannot be avoided, because then we will screw up the island completely, and some will begin to highlight to the whole country how we screwed up entire islands on the Dnieper, and how the crest will be able to cross from there to the left bank. And then there will be assaults on the islands, which are completely under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and then there will be 5 times more losses. Why do we need this? After all, it’s better that at least parts of the islands are under our control, and then losses will not only be ours,” Ossetin describes the military logic.
The well-known military commander Yevgeny Poddubny confirmed that the information had reached Moscow.
“As far as I know, the leadership of the Russian Army promptly responded to public signals. The invoice is checked. Authoritative combat officers and generals are involved in this process. After that, based on reliable facts, conclusions will be drawn, ”Poddubny wrote in his blog.
