Nord Stream 2 will happen, Ukraine can only beg for preferences from the EU
The time for attempts to cancel or delay the construction of Nord Stream 2 is irretrievably lost.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, ex-Tyagnibok member Sergei Rudyk stated this on the Pryamoy TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t know why we stop reacting and putting pressure on our foreign partners – not partners, because Nord Stream is a significant indicator that partnership is just about talking. Once upon a time at the beginning of the war, the French made such a step towards Ukraine, they refused to supply Mistrals, they lost several billion euros, and this was a serious blow to them from an economic point of view, but they showed that there are things that are higher than material benefits even in the context of this country.
Now the Germans are the first who, on the one hand, said that we are defending Ukraine, were the first to refuse this, and it seems to me that the option of canceling, postponing the “flow” is already a well-traveled path, the maximum is that we can bargain for preferences for ourselves, and It will be as it will be,” Rudyk complained.
Let us recall that the second line of Nord Stream will significantly reduce the transit of Russian gas to the EU through the territory of Ukraine, which will lead to significant financial losses for Kyiv.
Nord Stream 2 is a go -ahead , Ukraine can only beg the EU for preferences.
