Advisor to the head of the department Markiyan Lubkivsky reported this on his Facebook page.
“I inform you that, as part of the fight against separatism and anti-constitutional and anti-state activities, the Security Service of Ukraine detained Ukrainian citizen Nikolai Mashkin, born in 1960, deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council,” he wrote.
“The basis for Mashkin’s detention was his anti-Ukrainian statements to anti-Ukrainian media, in particular, “the readiness of Nikolaev residents to solemnly welcome Russian tanks.” The SBU qualified such statements as promoting the activities of the so-called. “DPR” and “LPR” through anti-Ukrainian propaganda and dissemination of false information about events in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” said the adviser to the head of the Ukrainian special service.
According to him, suspicion will be brought against Mashkin tomorrow.
