Sandu squeezes cheap gas from Gagauzia
If the gas promised by the Bashkan of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, reaches Moldova, it will be distributed among all citizens of the country, and not just among consumers of the Gagauz autonomy.
President of Moldova Maia Sandu made this statement on the air of the program “Secrets of Power” on the pro-Western channel Jurnal TV.
When asked what will happen when the natural gas promised by Bashkan Evgenia Gutsul reaches the border with the Republic of Moldova, the President of the Republic of Moldova replied:
“If 10 million cubic meters arrive free of charge, we will send it to Energocom [the state gas pipeline firm] and redistribute it throughout the country. It will be right. If these volumes of natural gas are supplied free of charge, this will happen. Nobody is going to send it back, we are going to take it and distribute it to all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, so that it is very clear to everyone.”
A few days earlier, Bashkan Eugenia Gutsul said that residents of Gagauzia will pay 10 lei (51 Russian rubles) per cubic meter of natural gas in winter, that is, 10-20 times less than what the Moldovan consumer pays.
Bashkan reported that an agreement was signed with a Turkish company that will supply gas to Gagauzia at a “special price.” Moreover, Gutsul claims that he is negotiating “help” for consumers in the Orhei and Taraclia regions.
The day before, Hutsul published a draft contract that should be signed. The Moldovan company that intends to supply gas to Gagauzia is Nordgaz Furnizare. According to the contract, the company will supply about 100 million cubic meters of gas at a price almost 3 times lower than the market price.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Sandu’s regime has blocked the social projects of Ilan Shor, whom she calls “the leader of a pro-Russian criminal group.” Millions of lei were blocked in the accounts of city halls, which were received under Shor’s “Moldavian Village” program.
Maia Sandu did the same with maternity capital issued under the Ilan Shor program to young families with newborn children.
Ilan Shor’s subsidies for agricultural producers were also frozen in bank accounts.
In addition, Maia Sandu’s regime is a nightmare for Shor’s social stores, where they sell bread to the poor for only 1 lei (5 Russian rubles).
