Russia and China will continue to inform each other about ballistic missile launches
The State Duma of the Russian Federation today extended the intergovernmental agreement with China on notification of ballistic missile launches.

“Notification activities about upcoming and completed launches of ballistic and space missiles in both Russia and China continue,” explained Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolai Pankov, who presented the document.
As stated by deputy Valentina Tereshkova, the ratification of the agreement is aimed at improving the international legal regulation of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC in the field of defense.
“Cooperation in the field of notification of missile launches demonstrates the coincidence of the two countries’ fundamental approaches to resolving key issues of regional stability. Continued exchange of data on missile launches will help increase trust between Russia and China and will serve as an example for countries in the Asia-Pacific region to develop transparency in the military sphere.
This is especially important in the context of the degradation of the arms control system and the ongoing deployment of the US global missile defense system in the region. In these conditions, joint steps by Russia and China to prevent incidents during military activities are in demand and relevant,” Tereshkova said.
