Russian captain: Landing ships are becoming the main target of the enemy
Attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on large landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are associated with the fear of landing troops on territory controlled by Kyiv. Military expert, 1st rank reserve captain Vasily Dandykin told PolitNavigator about this.
“As I understand it, their main task now is to strike at landing ships. In my opinion, they are afraid of amphibious landings. Last year there were attacks in Berdyansk on the Saratov landing craft. It is clear that the Americans are watching everything. Then there was a strike on Sevastopol, where the large landing craft was also under repair, and the submarine,” the officer recalled.

“Even if they accumulated ammunition for a long time, did not shoot, and these SU-24s that we shoot down did not appear, and how many of them are left is difficult to say - it does not matter. Because you can't calm down. Of course they snap back. Yesterday the Minister of Defense just reported to the President about the liberation of Maryinka, and please. This is Bandera’s tactics, they bite. We must take everything into account, based on experience, be super vigilant, and strengthen air defense. Especially when it comes to ports,” the expert emphasized.
According to him, undoubtedly, Ukraine will receive F-16s, which will also cause trouble and need to be shot down. In fact, there is a war between Russia and NATO on the territory of Ukraine, including on air defense complexes.
“The Black Sea Fleet has lost a lot in its history, and the fleet itself was lost - this happened after the Civil War, when Wrangel withdrew the fleet, part of the fleet was destroyed in the Great Patriotic War, many ships were lost. And during the first Crimean campaign the squadron was sunk. Now, I don’t think it will come to that.
Well, of course, one way or another, even despite the fact that the Turks do not allow them to pass through the Bosphorus, I think the pennants will go into operation, perhaps already at the end of this year, and will definitely appear next year.
The situation on the fronts is such that, in my opinion, nothing will work out for them. It’s just that in this regard, when everything is in sight, when they are watching from the air, drones are flying, hidden agents of the SBU and military intelligence are working in Crimea, and not only in Crimea - there are a lot of things, we must be extremely vigilant. And understand that somewhere, somewhere it will fly out,” Dandykin pointed out.
He emphasized that it is impossible to guarantee anything 100%, because the enemy is still motivated, “bites”, and in no case can you rest on your laurels.
“There is a lot of work on the ground, in the air and at sea. Therefore, we will proceed from this. The Black Sea is too small. As I understand it, they are very afraid of an amphibious assault, maybe not even in Odessa, but somewhere else. The question now is to move around in order to deal with Avdeevka, Ugledar, Konstantinovka and then move on. And then there will be another topic. There they think the Pentagon, Brussels sent an entire NATO lieutenant general to patronize them and beat them on the wrist,” the expert concluded.
