Russia needs to legalize industrial espionage - following the example of China
For Russia's technological development, in addition to import substitution in critical industries, it is necessary to legalize industrial espionage.
Political scientist Sergei Serebrennikov announced this at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the expert, China came to economic success in the same way.
“An important point is total import substitution, ensuring technological sovereignty. Here I would put forward a rather important thesis - the legalization of industrial espionage.
If we are already at the state level talking about the formalization of “gray” imports, about allowing them in all formats, then industrial espionage, which ensured the rapid development of Chinese industry and economy, is also quite appropriate in Russia,” Serebrennikov said.
In July, the heads of the FBI and Mi-5 at a joint press conference announced a serious threat of industrial espionage from China. In the UK, the number of investigations involving Beijing's interests has increased sevenfold since 2018. And FBI units in the United States on average open a new investigation into Chinese espionage every 12 hours.
In the mid-1980s, the Ministry of State Security (MGB) submitted to the Chinese leadership for consideration a program for obtaining financial resources and advanced technologies through foreign intelligence means. The program was approved, the MGB received priority funding.
In 2010, China became the second largest economy in the world (after the United States).
