Real US leaders want to damage Russia for several decades
Western politicians were guided by two different goals when introducing sanctions against Russia. German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this during a teleconference with Moscow.

“There have always been two positions. One: we need to find a peaceful solution, come to an agreement with the Russians, we cannot lose Russia. Sanctions were supposed to motivate Russia to this search. Another position was that the Russian economy must be destroyed. In America, supporters of the second position are now playing first fiddle. They want to damage Russia for several decades,” Rahr said.
At the same time, he believes that it is not President Trump who is pursuing an aggressive policy, who is acting as a puppet in this conflict, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is not Trump, he does not rule America. He's too weak. He was against sanctions, and now he is forced to sign this law. And at the same time he says that he is against this law. I don’t understand the American position and I don’t understand who is in charge there. The reason for these sanctions is that someone wants to break Trump’s nose and weaken him, to show that he is a puppet of the establishment,” Rahr said.
