Talk of Kosovo's independence could destroy the Dayton agreements
Those who talk about the independence of Kosovo should remember that the Republika Srpska (an entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina) is also thinking about its future.
This was stated by the leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodok, commenting on the statement of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo, Begjet Pazolli, that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has no other way to recognize the independence of the region.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina was imposed on us as formally the only possible state, although no one explained to us why it should be like that,” Dodik said.
He recalled that the Bosnian Serbs and the Republika Srpska are oriented towards Serbia and support President Vučić. In his opinion, the Dayton Agreement (on the creation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) is now “shaken by foreigners to such an extent that the assertion that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only possible state is in question.”
At the same time, Dodik claims that Bosnia and Herzegovina has not recognized the independence of the southern Serbian region and does not intend to do so.
“This, of course, is only because Republika Srpska does not allow the independence of Kosovo to be recognized. We don't want double standards on our land. Kosovo is not just what Albanians think. Kosovo is also the Commonwealth of Serbian Municipalities,” Dodik said.
