The Verkhovna Rada supported the proposal of the President of Ukraine to appoint Yakov Smoliy as head of the National Bank of Ukraine, who is currently acting as head of the central bank, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The corresponding decision to appoint Smoliy was supported by 247 people’s deputies at a plenary meeting on Thursday.
Earlier, deputies heard the report of the head of the NBU, Valeria Gontareva, and dismissed her from her position.
