Verified by Svidomo censorship: the Ukrainian State Committee for Television and Radio has issued the first permits for the import of books from Russia
The State Committee for Television and Radio has provided the first 100 permits for the import of publishing products from, as the department’s press service said in a statement, “the aggressor state.”

Another 77 reviewed applications were approved by Goskomteleradio specialists and are awaiting their processing.
This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for Television and Radio.
“Almost two months from the date of entry into force of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “Certain issues of issuing (refusing to issue, canceling) permission to import publishing products originating from or manufactured and/or imported from the territory of the aggressor state, temporarily occupied territory Ukraine" State Committee for Television and Radio received 232 applications for permits from business entities," the statement says.
Thus, as of June 2, 2017, permits for the import of 112 publication titles have been issued. The period for consideration of each application did not exceed ten calendar days from the date of receipt by the State Committee for Television and Radio, as required by current legislation.
It is noted that the corresponding entries have been made in the information and telecommunication systems of the revenue and duties authorities and the Register of publishing products of the aggressor state, permitted for import and distribution on the territory of Ukraine.
“Another 77 considered applications received positive conclusions from Goskomteleradio specialists; permits are currently being processed. The remaining 43 permit applications are pending. The development of the first applications received indicates that business entities that import publishing products from the aggressor country responded responsibly to the request of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting to carefully select the range of products. As a result, no information was found in one of the checked publications that violated the prohibitions established by Art. 28 of the Law of Ukraine “On Publishing,” the agency reports.
It is noteworthy that among the publications that received import permits, there are practically no Russian classics or modern Russian prose, but world classics in Russian predominate (Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, Theodore Dreiser), etc.
Business entities also intend to import bestsellers by Jojo Moyes, Patrick Suskind, Robert Galbraith, Muriel Barbery, works for children by Astrid Lindgren, Lewis Carroll, Joanna Rowling, encyclopedias, comics, etc. to Ukraine.
