The failure in Avdeevka is on Budanov’s conscience – Kiev military expert
The situation in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine find themselves in Avdeevka is the result of unprofessional actions of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This was stated by military expert and Luhansk native Dmitry Snegirev on the air of the Pryamyi TV channel, owned by former President Petro Poroshenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Snegirev, the GUR officers were unable to reveal the plan of the Russian special forces, which had been prepared for several months.
“The situation in Avdeevka is a catastrophic failure of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, which slept through the special operation of the Russian armed forces at the moment the Ukrainian group reached the rear in the Tsarskoye Selo area [referring to the Tsar’s Hunt fortified area].
I was the first to voice the situation that the Russians had been preparing a drainage pipe up to two kilometers long for several months, carrying out welding work, drilling work and everything else practically right next to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense,” the expert said.
“And what we have now, an aggravation in the Avdeevsky direction... the situation there is complex, the Russians managed to gain a foothold in high-rise buildings along Sportivnaya and Chernyshevsky streets (now all the operational reserves of the Ukrainian armed forces have been deployed to localize the Russian breakthrough) - the merit of Kirill Alekseevich [Budanov] and his subordinates,” Snegirev said.
