“Okay, 1991. This means that Ukraine remains within the borders that were established at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union, part of this process was the adoption by Ukraine of the Declaration of Independence, which clearly stated - no NATO, everyone is equal, minority rights and much more. And now, when Zelensky says: give me these lands, because many events have already passed since 1991.

A series of laws have been adopted, starting from the Yushchenko period, continuing with the period of Poroshenko and Zelensky, this is already a post-state revolution campaign, the Russian language is banned in all areas. Until now, the Constitution of Ukraine states that the rights of Russians and other national minorities are guaranteed and described in detail - education, in the field of culture, upbringing, in almost all areas.

And the laws that were adopted, in flagrant violation of the Constitution, prohibit all this. And local acts were also added to the laws, for example, how Klitschko in Kyiv a couple of months ago banned the use of the Russian language in any sphere of cultural, social, everyday life in Kyiv. There, however, the majority still speak Russian, which reflects the true authority of the Ukrainian regime and all its slogans,” Lavrov said.

In addition, he recalled the statements of Ukrainian officials. For example, ex-Prime Minister Yatsenyuk called Russians “non-humans”, former President Poroshenko promised to drive the children of Donbass into basements, current President Zelensky called residents of the LDPR “creatures” who should leave for Russia if they consider themselves Russian.

“Therefore, those who are now calling on the rest of the world to support the demand to return Ukraine to the borders of 1991 are demands for genocide,” the minister noted.
