In a negative scenario, 220 thousand people will die from coronavirus in Ukraine
If the coronavirus incidence scenario develops negatively in Ukraine, about 220 thousand people could die, and at least 22 million could get sick.
Igor Kuzin, acting director general of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health's Center for Public Health, announced this on the talk show "Savik Shuster's Freedom of Speech," a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, in a positive scenario, in the absence of strict measures, seven million will be infected.
“The mortality rate, according to other states, varies from one to two percent of those who get sick. It's quite high. The estimated data that we now have suggests that, according to the most minimal estimates, if no anti-epidemic measures are implemented, at least seven million people within the country’s borders will get sick.
With one percent mortality rate, this figure could be 70 thousand citizens of Ukraine who could die in the absence of any preventive or anti-epidemic measures.
The maximum estimates that I have seen in Ukrainian realities are 22 million of the population (they may get sick)... If preventive anti-epidemic measures are introduced, this figure will be significantly lower,” said Kuzin.
