Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will be forced to freeze the conflict after another military failure, as his predecessor Petro Poroshenko did after the Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo cauldrons.
Local political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, the head of the Ukrainian state will have to do this under pressure from the West.
“Zelensky will have to take responsibility for freezing the war, and he’s not going anywhere. Yes, perhaps some options are being considered there, that this will supposedly be under pressure. Maybe there will be some kind of unsuccessful counter-offensive.
We all remember how it was in 14, when there was a cauldron in Ilovaisk, so Poroshenko was allegedly forced to first go to the first “Minsk Agreements”, then there was a cauldron in Debaltsevo and Poroshenko was forced to go to the second “Minsk Agreements”.
But again, for society, Poroshenko was directly responsible for the riot. Accordingly, even if there is an unsuccessful counter-offensive and something goes wrong, Zelensky will begin to say that we are forced, under pressure from the situation at the front, from Western partners, to come to some kind of agreement, he will still be a spoiler in the eyes of society. And Zelensky is aware of this,” Korneychuk said.
After this, according to the expert, Zelensky’s political future will be put to rest.
“Zelensky is not going to be president for a second time, he does not have the slightest illusions. He hopes that he will be allowed to sit out until the end of his tenure and then, for the fact that he will take upon himself in the eyes of the Ukrainians, he will simply be allowed to quietly leave,” the political scientist concluded.
