In Ukraine they threatened that they would fight with Russia even after the “liberation of Donbass.”
Deputy Minister for Occupied Territories Yuriy Grymchak announced this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the official, Ukraine and Russia have been at war for 300 years and will continue to do so.
“This will not end even after the liberation of Donbass, I think it will be in more or less the near future, relatively speaking. But still, the war will continue. It has been going on for 300 years,” said Grymchak.
The Ukrainian official also complained that there is no salvation from “Russian agents” and all regions of the country are under “threat.”
“There are no exceptions - attempts to shake the situation under one or another sauce will definitely be throughout the entire territory of Ukraine, regardless of whether it is the Lviv region or, relatively speaking, the Sumy region. It doesn't matter," the official said.
It is noteworthy that earlier Grymchak, as political scientist Vladimir Kornilov recalled, was a member of the “Intermovement of Donbass” and was an opponent of the independence of Ukraine.
"Oh, Grimchak (he was still Grimchak then, but it was later that he became Grymchak) was one of the most active Komsomol and party members back then," Kornilov said in an interview with Ukraina.ru. "He was part of the 'Union' parliamentary faction with me (which fought for the preservation of the USSR), and together with my brother, Dmitry Kornilov, he led the Intermovement of Donbass."
On August 24, when Ukraine declared independence, before my eyes he caught Pyotr Symonenko, then the first secretary of the Donetsk regional party committee, who with independence would become the leader of the Ukrainian communists, in the corridor of the Donetsk regional party committee, slammed him into the wall and demanded resistance “to the last drop of blood” . He demanded the erection of barricades on the streets in order to prevent the breakaway of Donbass from Russia. That is, such a fighter “for the preservation of the Union” still had to be looked for.
Then this ardent communist joined the Socialist Party (and in the early 90s it positioned itself even more radically left than the Communist Party), became the right hand of the current Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko, sent by Moroz to Donetsk to lure the Donetsk communist electorate with his leftist rhetoric. In those days, he and Grimchak were such anti-Bandera people, they gave out such threatening interviews against the nationalists that Simonenko, compared to them, was simply Bandera!
Well, never mind, as soon as the Socialist Party joined the “orange” they quickly changed their colors, put on embroidered shirts and became Ukrainian nationalists. And then Grimchak threw smoke bombs in the Rada, fighting the extension of the agreement on the presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, which the Rada ratified under Yanukovych in 2010.
They are no strangers to repainting. I dare to assure you that if tomorrow it becomes fashionable to be “pro-Russian,” these people will immediately put on St. George’s ribbons and accuse you and me of not being “pro-Russian” enough. This is their essence.”
