Poroshenko warned: the West will not “fit in”
The West understands Russia’s potential very well, therefore, if the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in the election fever, decides to organize a blitzkrieg in the Donbass, no one will “fit in” for him.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov said this on the YouTube channel “First Cossack,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation with martial law is this: the United States will not allow it. Moreover, if he (Poroshenko – ed.) introduces martial law, he will still have to hold elections later. And then he will definitely have nowhere to go.
When will regional councils start making decisions against martial law? Yes, it's illegal. But even with martial law, it is not clear how the law can be higher than the norm of the Constitution,” Dzhangirov said.
According to the expert, the West is not eager to check whether Russia is bluffing or not when talking about its readiness to defend the LDPR.
“A couple of times the Russians showed that they were ready. Next time no one will check, but everyone assumes that this is possible. No one will give Poroshenko the go-ahead for this, and if he does it without the “go-ahead”, as Saakashvili did, then no one will sign up for him,” added Dmitry Dzhangirov.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, DPR National Assembly member Vladislav Berdichevsky strongly recommended that the Kyiv authorities not forget Tskhinvali and the defeat of the Georgian side , which had been counting on large-scale Western support.
