Poroshenko may force Akhmetov to bring Ukraine to collapse
President Petro Poroshenko is unable to influence in any way the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, who, if put under pressure, could provoke social chaos in Ukraine.
This opinion was shared by the editor-in-chief of the Ostrov news agency, Sergei Garmash, on the Ukrlife.TV channel, which is close to Yulia Tymoshenko’s circle, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He (Poroshenko – editor’s note) cannot take any decisive action towards Akhmetov. Firstly, because it depends on the value of shares of Akhmetov’s companies. Secondly, because they have very similar psychology. Thirdly, because Akhmetov is a very rich man, he influences the work of a large number of enterprises in Ukraine, and if he wants, they can stop, and we will get social collapse and a social explosion,” explained Sergei Garmash.
