SBU Colonel: Russia will burn 30 km from the border deep into Ukraine
The greatest threat to Ukraine is the likely creation by Russia of a “sanitary zone” in the border area.
The Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kostenko, this means that at a distance of 20-30 kilometers from the border, Russia can burn everything.
“The biggest threat right now is what Putin said, the creation of a ‘sanitary zone’ that they talked about. What they saw now is probably due to our lack of air defense systems, due to a very large front, which we cannot cover with effective means of the Patriot type, which we are forced to drive from place to place in order to cover the most threatening directions , and this, unfortunately, is a problem.
Therefore, this is a “sanitary zone” that they can burn to a depth of 20-30 kilometers in order to secure their territory. It is in our area that all settlements and people who are there are at risk. This is what we must protect, counteract, look for air defense systems, ask for partners. This is the biggest threat currently along the northern border,” Kostenko said.
