The political ignorance of Crimeans helps Kyiv create fake news
The North Crimean Canal has predictably returned to the news agenda following the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson. American missiles in the hands of Ukrainian forces have access to both the Kakhovka Dam locks and the pumping station in Tavriysk, which pumps water from the Dnieper into the canal, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov commented on the threat to Crimea’s water supply on Rossiya 24.

“From the point of view of the real situation, we in Crimea are independent of the water of the North Crimean Canal; we lived without it for eight years and did a tremendous job,” he assured. – There is a program to provide water to Crimea, designed until 2024, no one has canceled it. A lot has been done under this program, we connected underground sources, reconnected Simferopol to these sources, and survived the drought. In this sense, everything is more or less stable here; the supply of reservoirs in Crimea, and they are almost all full, allows us to provide the population with water for 2 years. It's a pretty safe situation."
The North Crimean Canal, according to the speaker, is needed as a source of development of Northern Crimea, and, above all, restoration of rice growing and industrial potential. Through the North Crimean Canal, water flows into the acid storage tank of the Titan chemical plant, and without this water, the environmental disaster of 2018 could be repeated, when the evaporated acid sediment spread throughout the area, covering all metal parts with rust and leaving a suffocating smell.
It must be said that all 8 years before this, Konstantinov convinced of the inappropriateness and even danger of the canal for Crimea. Allegedly, Ukrainian Nazis can poison the waters of the Dnieper, and this poison will fall on the peninsula.
And a miracle - the Crimean speaker was heard by enemies on the other side of the front and sent a spam message about the poisoning of seven people in Crimea with cadaveric poison.
The fake message said that the poison entered the North Crimean Canal through drains from mass grave sites in the village of Chernyanka, Kherson region. To add weight, anonymous news was disseminated under the guise of a TASS report and with reference to the main headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea. The authors of fakes do not know that water enters the water supply network after purification at water utility facilities, where it is analyzed for chemical and bacteriological indicators, and why should they worry about verisimilitude - panic and fear are born in heads that are not burdened with critical thinking.
At the same time, a video is being distributed from Kyiv from the Yalta embankment, where walkers warm up by dancing to the songs of Verka Serduchka. This is quite a common picture for the resort, where not very ideologically savvy street musicians can perform “Elzy’s Ocean” and the repertoire of other artists who previously supported the ATO, and now curse Russia from the screens of Ukrainian TV.
Moreover, on the embankment of Yalta, all the time since 2014, a bandura player in the costume of a Cossack Cossack performed unhindered - unlike Kyiv, on the peninsula it was customary to demonstrate in every possible way tolerance towards independent popular prints.

Now this state of affairs is used by Ukrainian propaganda as evidence of “the readiness of Crimea to return to Nenka.” Moreover, it seems that the main addressee is not so much the Ukrainian public (they are more or less aware of the sentiments of the Crimeans), but the West, which did not recognize the referendum on the peninsula and is pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to occupy the Russian peninsula.
