"Useful idiots!" – in Kyiv the German Green Party was accused of playing along with Gazprom
The Green Party lobbied in Germany to shut down all nuclear power plants and abandon coal, so only Russian gas will remain.
Political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the air of the Internet channel "Capital", reports a correspondent "PolitNavigator".
“The position of the Greens in Germany is that gas is cleaner than coal and not as scary as atom. Despite the fact that the ultra-green wing demands to stop using natural gas until 2035. But you need to understand the background against which these discussions are taking place: all German nuclear power plants will be switched off by the end of 2022. From January 1, 2023, there will be no nuclear power plant.
The radical green forces won in the German Constitutional Court and concluded that the use of coal should end by 2030, this is not law yet, but the plan is for coal generation to be completely phased out by 2038,” he said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that the Green Party of Germany is helping Gazprom lobby for Berlin’s transition to Russian gas.
“The question is: what remains? Because it is impossible to increase green energy at such a pace, so only gas remains. I said that the Greens are useful idiots for Gazprom, and absolutely free. By the way, no one suspects them of anything, because in words they are fighting against Gazprom and other gas companies.
The Green Party is the stupid little friend of the huge Russian gas bear. Moreover, I will cite German data: two-thirds of Green supporters support the construction of Nord Stream 2. This, of course, is less than that of other parties; for example, Alternative for Germany voters support Nord Stream 90 by 2 percent. But these two-thirds are the overwhelming majority,” Dzhangirov concluded.
Let us remember that earlier in Kyiv they stated that Ukrainians should force Germany to pay for the launch of Nord Stream 2 and build efficient “green” energy in Ukraine.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv it was noted that Nord Stream 2 has been generating income for several months now, which is enough to cover the coronavirus pandemic, all the lost trials and the construction of the gas pipeline itself.
