Poklonskaya: “You can’t laugh at the country’s leaders”
You can't laugh at state leaders. This statement was made by State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya on the Soyuz TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The film “The Death of Stalin” was banned. We spoke out so that they would not desecrate our history and not laugh at the leaders of the country. But you can’t laugh at the country’s leaders. It is not right. Because then we laugh at ourselves, at our country,” the deputy believes.
The host of the program drew parallels between “The Death of Stalin” and the film “Matilda,” which Poklonskaya actively opposed showing in cinemas.
“You can laugh at a holy man, a martyr sovereign, but you cannot laugh at Stalin. Is this how it works? Can we draw such a conclusion? – the journalist asked a question.
“No one will laugh at our sovereign. Because God cannot be mocked. And what they tried to do only shows their weakness,” Poklonskaya replied.
