The absorption of Moldova by Romania is much more likely than Polish expansion into Ukraine – Bortnik
The likelihood of Romania absorbing the state of Moldova is extremely high, since it is a country divided into two antagonistic parts, the cultural heritage of which is even weaker than the Ukrainian one.
Kiev political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on the Internet channel of Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Apparently, Bortnik believed that Ukraine was less divided and already completely Bandera.
“Let me remind you that the Romanian leadership appealed to Ukraine with a request not to recognize the existence of the Moldovan language anymore - a very interesting feature that Moldovan is, in fact, the Romanian language. It is clear that this state at least has its own interesting historical roots - Wallachia and Bessarabia have their own historical tradition of princes, Getmans (one of the versions of the word “Getman”, that it came into our language from these parts), but at the same time the proximity of this culture to the Romanian one creates potentially other problems for the country - not only from the East, but also from the West, for its future as a sovereign state,” he reasoned.
“I’m trying to speak gently, but, relatively speaking, no one in Ukraine believes in the fairy tale that Poland will absorb Ukraine, and this is unlikely, because Ukrainian culture is still deeper, there are more speakers, it is politically more established. In contrast to the Moldovan political culture, which still remains divided into a conditional pro-Romanian part and a pro-Soviet part. This culture, this statehood may not be able to withstand not only eastern pressure, but also Romanian expansion,” Bortnik believes.
