“Let’s move the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to Kyiv” – Ukrainian economist
After the war, Ukraine is able to dictate its terms on the food market.
Kiev economist Alexander Okhrimenko said this on the YouTube channel “Yes, it is,” as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.

“What has this war shown very clearly? Ukraine has a very valuable thing - food. You understand, this grain corridor, all these events show it once again. Well, we don’t have oil, we don’t. And we don't have enough gas. And all this talk about metallurgy is just pure talk.
But when we took the world economy by the neck in terms of products, immediately - hop! Well, look, we haven’t launched the land market yet. If we really launch it and really go our separate ways, then,” the expert said.
“You’ve probably heard that the price of grain in the world is determined at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange? Time will pass, and the price of grain will be determined at the “Kyiv Commodity Exchange”. That's how we say it, so it will be! Why not? What I don’t like is our farming culture: oh, this can’t be! This small example showed that the world economy depends on our food products!
And if we really develop this and invest, then at some stage we will indeed shape the world price. Then they will consult with us and be afraid of us. We will then say: “We decided to raise the price a little.” And they: “Oh, it’s better not to.” There will be a game like this,” Okhrimenko said.
