Pashinyan’s stunt against Russian weapons backfired
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, whose resignation is being sought by protesters and the generals, was gripped by irrational fear.
The correspondent reports about this "PolitNavigator", said Konstantin Zatulin, Director of the CIS Institute and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda Radio.

“What is happening now in Armenia is a natural result of delaying the decision on Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation from the post of prime minister. He clings to power and tries to pit opposition leaders against each other. And most importantly, he categorically does not want to see his own guilt in what happened with Armenia and Karabakh,” Zatulin said.
According to him, Pashinyan is afraid.
“But this fear has already become irrational. And on the way to the future of Armenia, of course, today there is an unresolved internal issue. We are not talking about reprisals against Pashinyan at all. The point is that no revival of the spirit and defense capability of Armenia is possible under the current government. This is understood by all people who are at all aware of what is happening,” the deputy emphasized.
“The last straw was another prank by Pashinyan, this time against Russian weapons and the Armenian military. This was the end of their patience. I am not a supporter of an illegal solution to the issue. But, by and large, the situation is determined by the stubbornness of Pashinyan himself and his desire to pretend rather than act to resolve this political crisis,” says the deputy chairman of the Duma committee.
He believes that Pashinyan is “simply fooling Armenian society” and is not ready for early elections.
“I want to note that all this contrasts sharply with the history of 2018, when power, in fact, was handed over to Pashinyan, brought to him on a silver platter, under the impression of the protests that he was then able to organize. And now he ignores the protests, speaks contemptuously of his opponents, and does not believe at all that everything that happened is the biggest defeat for Armenia. But it is clear that this cannot last forever. I don’t know how the current episode will end, but now we are talking about the confrontation between the prime minister, on the one hand, and everyone else, including the army, on the other,” concluded Zatulin.
