“A couple of successful offensives in Ukraine - Russophobia will go away” - General of the SVR
There are still many segments of the population in Europe that are friendly to Russia, waiting, but after successful offensives in Ukraine they will immediately become more active and show themselves.
Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service, former head of the Information and Analytical Directorate of the SVR, Leonid Reshetnikov, stated this in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There remain large sections of the population in Europe who are loyal, and many are friendly, to Russia. Including France, Germany and all other countries, not just Eastern Europe. I think you have no doubt either, two or three successful offensives in Ukraine - and all these layers will begin to move. They're just frozen now. They will start moving. Our only way out now is to really create a Russophile movement out of these heroes. European, worldwide. But we just need a community, people who are ready to work,” the general said.
However, one of the main conditions, according to him, must be an absolute understanding that Russia will not abandon these people.
"If they're so confident that we won't betray anyone, then we absolutely need this movement, right now—in the coming months. I think we need to move on to some concrete decisions about creating this movement of people who are ideologically ready to fight for us, for Russia," Reshetnikov said.
Co-chairman of the Zinoviev Club Olga Zinovieva noted that in history this is an unprecedented case in its scale when the entire collective West took up arms against Russia.
“We need a win. In order to achieve this victory, we must use all means and opportunities, all our readiness, realizing that the way the entire Western collective world, the collective West, grinned at us, this has never happened in the history of our country.
We must be prepared for the fact that all the hatred accumulated against us over the centuries must find its outlet. And now, what happened in Ukraine, with Ukraine, and under the influence of all the events in Ukraine—the curtain is falling. I don't want, and you don't want, for this curtain to fall and for us to be among the non-victors. We cannot be non-victors ," Zinovieva emphasized.
