Retired Babin scares with FSB cameras on buses
The Ukrainian state must take control of the transportation of citizens to Crimea. Now companies providing this service operate illegally.
Former “representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” Boris Babin stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
“I want our intelligence services to know what kind of people they are. Because today all carriers are controlled by another party, not us. Every driver who crosses the demarcation line is completely controlled by the FSB,” Babin said.
Then, however, he explained that buses do not cross the border at all. Passengers cross it on foot and board another bus in Crimea. But all the same, the system is controlled by the FSB on both sides, Babin claims.
“Drivers hand over passenger lists to the FSB. They are instructed how to listen in on passengers' communications. Who is potentially up for questioning? They are already doing it here. When you get on this bus in Kyiv, it’s the same as if you entered an FSB interrogation chamber in Dzhankoy. And we are tolerant of this, because these structures controlled by the FSB pay bribes to officials. The cache is taken out in suitcases and distributed locally. A corrupt anti-state network has been created in the Kherson region and Kyiv,” he said.
As a reminder, President Poroshenko signed a decree dismissing Boris Babin from the post of "representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea."
