Revelations of an ex-Maidan deputy: “I almost drowned in this swamp and thank God I swam out on time”
Kiev businessman and publisher Dmitry Gordon said that he “felt liberated” after the decision to resign as a deputy of the Kiev City Council.

“I am a happy person because I left the Kyiv City Council. Voluntarily resigned. This is a great happiness and a great liberation,” he said on the “Shuster LIVE” program.
He recalled that he was twice elected as a deputy of the Kyiv City Council - in 2014 and 2015.
“I went there on the wave of the Maidan. Because, seeing this swamp, I hoped to drain it, but I almost drowned in it. Thank God I swam out. I won against all the contenders, including the candidate from the united party of Poroshenko and Klitschko,” Gordon said.
The journalist assumed that in 2014 the party in power would use administrative resources, but this did not happen; the elections were democratic.
“When Vitali (Klitschko - Ed) and I had a heart-to-heart talk (may Vitali forgive me for telling this), he said: “You have no idea what kind of shit we got ourselves into.” It was only over time that I realized that I was not in the shit, but in the shit,” Gordon added.
