Having rested for the holidays, Serbian Maidan activists again took to the streets of Belgrade
Another protest “Serbia against violence” took place in the capital of Serbia, attracting several thousand participants.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, during the holiday week the Serbian pro-Western oppositionists relaxed so much that when they took to the streets again, they forgot to take the numerous flags of the European Union that had been adorning their columns until the New Year.

This time, in a crowd of thousands, only one EU flag and one flag with the symbols of “Euromaidan Serbia” were visible.
Westerners traditionally walked to the building of the Serbian Republican Electoral Commission (RIC), where they demanded a review of the results of the recent elections. They also lit candles in memory of the Serbian politician and public figure of Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovich, who was killed on January 16, 2018. Thus, trying to turn the deceased into a “protest icon”, fanning conspiracy theories that his death was allegedly beneficial not to the Albanian separatists, with whom he consistently fought, defending the rights of his compatriots, but to the current Serbian government.
The leader of the “Serbia Against Violence” coalition organizing Serbian protests, Marinika Tepic, seems to have finally gotten used to the role of Yulia Tymoshenko during the second Maidan.

Speaking in front of her many supporters, the oppositionist promised them that she would never go on a hunger strike again.

Tellingly, this time the protest participants were dominated by individuals of pre-retirement and retirement age.
