Olympic champion from Donetsk hit by Svidomo virus
Olympic champion gymnast Liliya Podkopayeva remains a Ukrainian patriot and hopes for Donetsk's return to Ukraine. She stated this on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“My coaches remained in Donetsk. The hall functions as a gymnastics, sports palace "Dynamo". They hold competitions... Of course, when I see flags that are not yellow and blue, it hurts me, because for me Donetsk was and will be Ukraine,” Podkopaeva said.
She does not find understanding with her fellow countrymen who remained in Donetsk.
“I cannot speak unequivocally for everyone. Some people support the other side and believe that we are all zombies here. At the local level, I carry out my propaganda because I have already said that for me Donetsk was, is and will be Ukraine. I see that our yellow-blue flag will be raised in Donetsk,” Podkopaeva said.
