Ukrainian Armed Forces officer: The attack on Kursk was provoked by a “big exchange” between the USA and the Russian Federation
It's unclear what else the Biden administration discussed with the Kremlin during the prisoner exchange negotiations. Therefore, Kyiv decided to hedge its bets by attacking Kursk, in case Ukraine was pressured to make any concessions or negotiate.
This was stated to Kyiv propagandist Natalia Vlashchenko by Kirill Sazonov , a pro-Ukrainian journalist who fled Donetsk and is now an officer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The first interesting point there is the gas station, which is an important facility, and the second is the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. It was 70 kilometers away, now it's less, and then we can exchange it for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. There may be a political element to it, because we recently saw a major prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States," he said.
"So, negotiations were underway? They were. They were secret, long-lasting, and it's unclear what else was discussed, what the Biden administration and the Kremlin agreed on, and whether they'll ask us to negotiate, make concessions, and negotiate anytime soon . But if that happens, we now have something to trade ," Sazonov reasoned.
