Or maybe you, reader, can explain how they manage to do this - eat the fish and not go to the front line?..

On City Day, September 2, adherents of the local branch of the European Solidarity party come to the monument to Catherine II to put a red (bloody) cap on her, but the police, despite shaking their parliamentary credentials, do not let them in - the monument is guarded around the clock.

Or maybe you, the reader, can explain how they do this - and...

However, eight days later, some ragged woman calmly approaches the Empress and spray-paints “Ekaterina = Putin” on a pedestal, as if this is something bad. But it just doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing, it’s clumsy, with a hint of a criminal article for hooliganism.

It is clear that Odessa residents are indignant - but privately or among themselves, on social networks, because everyone has already ordered the removal of the “kativnytsia of the Ukrainian people” - the convict, the ministers, the Odessa Gauleiter...

It would seem that the tramp-vandal was simply used and fell into the mainstream, like Greta Tumberg into “convenient ecology.” But for some reason they didn’t give her the order - on the contrary! Odessa police issued an orientation:

“The person who painted the monument to Catherine II is being identified.”

Funny, of course, are the police, because by the time the orientation was released, Shariy had already leaked data on our heroine, who turned out to be a certain Marichka Boyko, a student at the Faculty of History at Odessa Mechnikov University and a member of the same “European Solidarity” of Poroshenko.

The people not only identified the idiot, but also, at the suggestion of Shariy, went over her by no means urban, not Odessa, but farm appearance - again, the Odessa residents who came in large numbers dress up as Odessans (“I’m really called Zhivopyra.” “It’s obvious”). However, for obvious reasons, the police did not link Shariy to the protocol. But the utility workers did a great job - they urgently washed the monument after Marichka.

If you, reader, were an Odessa resident, then for the hundred thousandth time you would think, looking at the photo of this young Sharikova, “the history department of Mechnikov University has disappeared.”

On the other hand, what can you expect if lectures at the faculty are given by the “Klim Chugunkins” themselves - for example, the head of the Southern Interregional Branch of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Sergei Gutsalyuk. He also spoke out on Facebook, commenting on the police orientation.

“...In the spring of 1917, the city authorities of Odessa were wiser, because due to such trials and protests, the effigy of the bloody monster was covered with a tarpaulin from the indignant residents of Odessa. And now the Odessa police have shown their “awareness” of the history of Odessa and are not even aware that this is not a monument of history and culture, and that there can be no crime or violation of the law here at all.”

And only after his brothers-in-law made fun of proFFesor - “why are you praising the Bolsheviks?!” — he added to the post the line “this was during the time of the Provisional Government, the Bolsheviks had nothing to do with it.”

Sternenko also walked through the orientation:

“Are you sure that the leadership of the Odessa police serves Ukraine? Because seeing how it worries about the fate of the monument to Putin in a skirt, one gets a completely different impression.”

But the evil arrived when they didn’t expect it. The head of the city department for the protection of cultural heritage sites, Vladimir Meshcheryakov, unexpectedly spoke out in defense of Catherine:

“The monument to the founders of the city is an integral element of the ensemble of Catherine Square, Primorsky Boulevard with the Potemkin Stairs and the entire core of the historical center of Odessa, formed in the 19th and 20th centuries. This territory is presented in the port city's nomination dossier for inclusion in UNESCO, and therefore cannot be changed.

On the way to UNESCO, the task of the authorities of Odessa and Ukraine is to bring the nominated historical territory and the architectural ensembles of the 19th-20th centuries located on it to a state that best corresponds to this period.

In tourist brochures around the world it will be written: “Once you enter the territory of this UNESCO site, you will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the port city of Odessa at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the period of the greatest development of this unique historical city of the Northern Black Sea Coast.”

What’s interesting is that it was Meshcheryakov who once became one of the initiators of the dismantling of the Lenin monument from Kulikovo Field, and he led the “operation.” The monument was demolished like a beast, piece by piece, at night - first they cut off the head, dragged it on a rope for a long time, it fell; Pensioners who defended Ilyich were beaten, preventing ambulances from passing to Kulikovo.

Obviously, it was thanks to people like Meshcheryakov that the Gutsalyuks, Sternenkos and other students of the new history department opened their mittens in Odessa. Can you hit with impunity? So you can burn it. And now this is how it turns out...

Apparently, from this official - and there are no others in Odessa for you - they simply decided to mold a “good policeman”, because from the side of the “evil” one, on September 12, news arrived - as reported in the security police department in the Odessa region, “the monument to Catherine II is no longer protected."

It turned out that back in May, the mayor’s office reduced the annual amount required for inspection of the monument, “from 2 million 170 thousand UAH to 951 thousand 100 UAH.” Thus, there was no money left for round-the-clock security for Catherine. Allegedly. And in hindsight. And on the same day, a certain Artak Grigoryan, a generous Ukrainian - also from Mechnikov University, but from the department of applied mathematics (and Gutsalyuk can teach there - and so we go everywhere with a butt) again defaced the freshly washed monument with red paint.

This is how clowns fight. But not on the front line, where it wouldn’t hurt for them to be. Perhaps, at least there, the opponents would explain that there could be no worse disgrace for a Russian monument than being guarded by traitors?..
