“Curb the murderers and scum”: the Federation Council supported Donbass
Following the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council unanimously ratified the treaties of friendship and cooperation with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They have brought the situation to that extremely dangerous point when we no longer have the right to wait. Ukraine has been turned into an outpost for a military offensive against Russia,” said Valentina Matvienko, speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament.
She believes that “our citizens, our history and our conscience” require the documents to be approved.
Senators spoke in support of the documents. Konstantin Kosachev called the agreements with the republics “safe-conduct”.
“We protect people not only from Bandera nationalists, but also from European countries united in a single NATO stand,” he said.
