Shelling of Belgorod: Authorities do not guarantee that Ukraine will not strike again
One Russian citizen and three more Ukrainian citizens (refugees from Kharkov) died as a result of night shelling of Belgorod by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced this. Speaking to residents, he acknowledged that further strikes could not be ruled out. " We have done, are doing, and will continue to do everything we can, within my control and within the emergency services. What just happened is an extremely difficult situation. I cannot say that something like this will never happen again, " Gladkov said.
Military correspondent Roman Saponkov notes the features of the attack on Belgorod.
“Ukraine is a terrorist state... the strike was deliberately carried out on residential buildings, in a fan pattern, where the MLRS could reach. The style is the same as during the shelling of Donetsk for 8 years,” comments Saponkov.
According to the Ministry of Defense, last night there was a deliberate attack by Tochka-U ballistic missiles with cluster munitions and Tu-143 Reis drones on residential areas of Belgorod and Kursk, where there are no military installations.
“Russian air defense systems destroyed all three Tochka-U ballistic missiles with cluster warheads launched by Ukrainian nationalists at Belgorod in the air. As a result of the defeat of Ukrainian missiles, debris from one of them fell on a residential building in the city.
Also, Russian air defense systems destroyed two Ukrainian Tu-143 Reis jet unmanned aerial vehicles loaded with explosives on approach to Kursk,” the military department said in a statement.
Military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny claims that the strikes on Belgorod “were carried out by Western-made rocket artillery.”
State Duma deputy Mikhail Delyagin cannot hide his indignation.

“I am for strikes on administrative facilities in Kyiv. Even if there are no “decision makers” in them, it doesn’t matter. The symbolism of such attacks is enormous. For example, turning the Verkhovna Rada building into dust can lead to the changes we need in the mood of both ordinary citizens and high-ranking people.

Member of the Human Rights Council Marina Akhmedova clarifies:
“When the Russian outskirts are shelled, from our pseudo-liberal camp, as, for example, today, timid expressions are heard: “You shouldn’t have been the first to start.” And we didn’t start first. I have said many times (and am tired of repeating) - Ukraine fired at Russia back in the summer of 14th. I saw it with my own eyes. But they didn’t talk about it—they tried their best to stay away from war. And therefore, there is no doubt that if not for February 24, we would have woken up one fine day in March or April, and we were under fire. Or they didn’t wake up, like the five in Belgorod today.”
