“No security, no wealth” – in Kyiv they doubted the need for European integration
Joining NATO and the EU, even after giving up some territories, will not bring Ukraine either security or prosperity.
This was stated by Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have to sacrifice something. Do we want to join NATO and the EU? Well, without part of the territory. WEIGHT? Either joining NATO or the EU does not give you guarantees of security, economic growth, and prosperity. Why sacrifice territories?” Karasev noted.
“Well, let's look at this whole story now. Can NATO guarantee security to former post-Soviet states today? Those that are in the neighborhood of Russia and are part of such a belt or arc between NATO, the European Union and the Russian Federation. At this stage, of course, everything can change in 10, 15, 20 years.
"It's either one way or the other. It's either worse for the West or better for it. And, of course, for Russia, too. Joining NATO isn't security, it's danger. Territorial losses, conflicts, destruction ," the expert concluded.
