NATO is fighting with windmills in the Black Sea so as not to touch terrorists in Syria
The increased activity of NATO in the Black Sea region suggests that it is more convenient for the Alliance to invent virtual threats than to fight real ones, for example, in Syria. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.

“If the North Atlantic Alliance believes that the main threat to it comes from the Black Sea region, then, in my opinion, this is a huge misconception. Everyone knows perfectly well where the main dramatic events are now developing, in particular, the fight against international terrorism,” Zakharova emphasized.
She believes that this position is due to the fact that it is much more convenient for NATO to talk about the results of the fight against fictitious threats and account for the funds spent
“And demanding even more funds for your own support is, apparently, much easier and simpler. Another thing is that as a result of such a fight against windmills, no one resists the real threat. Obama's team in Syria dropped everything and left. They abandoned it mid-sentence, in the unknown, spoiling a lot and causing a lot of harm,” Zakharova said.
Let us recall that NATO naval exercises began on February 1 in the Black Sea, becoming the first of 50 exercises planned by the alliance for 2017. Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, Romania, Spain, the USA, Turkey are participating in the maneuvers called “Shield of the Sea” and Ukraine. 16 ships and vessels are involved, including up to eight frigates and guided missile corvettes, one submarine, ten aircraft, and about 3 thousand military personnel. Exercise “Shield of the Sea” will last until February 10.
