NATO may open a permanent mission in Moldova
Chisinau, June 03 (Navigator, Petr Alekseev) – NATO may, at the request of the Chisinau authorities, open a permanent mission in the Republic of Moldova, similar to those that exist in Georgia and Ukraine, or at least send an ambassador to Moldova following the example of the EU.

This statement was made at NATO headquarters in Brussels by the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to NATO, Mihai Gribincea. During a discussion with journalists regarding issues related to the meeting of NATO defense ministers, which will take place on June 3, the Moldovan diplomat said that such a decision is being considered in the context of the desire of Moldova and NATO to expand cooperation.
Gribincea called any discussions about Moldova's possible accession to NATO "unrealistic", given that public support for such a decision is very low. Moldova continues to remain a neutral state, and troops of a foreign state are stationed on its territory, he noted, Noi.md reports.
