Kyiv, November 24 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – At the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Finance Minister Alexander Shlapak publicly criticized the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the still Minister of Finance Alexander Shlapak presented a presentation in which he blasted the activities of the Kyiv State Administration in the budgetary and economic sphere to smithereens, reports Ekonomicheskaya Pravda.
In particular, the Minister of Finance said that Kyiv has not fully used its reserves to fill the budget. Their use could provide additional revenues in the amount of UAH 1,4 billion. The reserves include low rental rates - only by increasing them it would be possible to attract UAH 0,2 billion. Another source is the tax debt, which has increased by 69% since the beginning of the year, amounting to UAH 1 billion as of October 0,6.
The Kyiv City State Administration itself states that the city’s budget deficit will amount to about UAH 1,7 billion by the end of the year, and the capital will require government subsidies and subventions.
Experts assess such criticism from the Minister of Finance towards the mayor as the beginning of a struggle over the distribution of financial flows. Kyiv is the richest city in Ukraine, with both the largest revenues to the country’s budget and the largest subsidies from the budget.
