In Ukraine, the horrifying results of the Maidan five-year plan are being summed up
The state of the economy in Ukraine is critical: the country’s population is dying out or is fleeing en masse to work in Europe, and the export of goods in its structure is similar to that of the colonies of the British Empire.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Anatoly Kinakh told the Ukrlife.Tv channel about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I looked with positive surprise at the latest report of the US Congress Intelligence Committee, which was formed sometime in February of this year. There were several paragraphs about our country, about Ukraine, one of them simply amazed me. They write in plain text (I practically quote) that “no less a threat (in their edition) than the “hand of the Kremlin” for Ukraine is the threat of an increase in the rate of labor migration and depopulation of the population.” They say this in plain text and confirm this with conclusions that not only they, but also the UN and WHO have,” the expert explained.
Kinakh explained that in this case we mean labor migration.
“According to various expert estimates, today somewhere from 5 to 7 million Ukrainians are forced to look for means of subsistence abroad. This is Poland (about 2 million), this is Russia (according to various estimates, up to 2,5 million) and then the entire geography, starting from Portugal: Spain, Germany. Across Europe today there are already examples of migrant workers in Vietnam and the Middle East.
The closest example is that in Poland this year the minimum wage is about 510 euros per month. This is essentially twice as high as our officially published average. Their average is already a thousand euros per month. Naturally, people make appropriate choices.
But there are even more serious systemic problems that strengthen labor migration trends: this is a change in the structure of the economy as such, which, unfortunately, is changing in the direction of raw materials. Today, about 70% of our GDP is the raw materials of the agricultural complex - wheat, corn, rapeseed, honey, etc., the mining and metallurgical complex.
What is 70% of raw material exports in the overall export structure? This is, in fact, the structure of exports of the former colonies of the Great British Empire,” Kinakh noted.
“Just take the severe crisis phenomena that we have, in particular in our transport sector, using the example of the same Ukrzaliznytsia. Moral and physical wear and tear of locomotives – 92%, passenger cars – 83%. The rest is covered platforms – at least up to 70%,” the ex-prime minister continued.
In addition, Anatoly Kinakh noted that according to statistics provided by the UN, about 60% of Ukrainians live below the poverty line.
“Take the UN statistics, these are not our statistics, these are not the statistics of the opposition, but the UN statistics for last year. This year the situation is no better. According to UN statistics, 60% of Ukrainians live below the poverty line. They have a standard - 150 dollars per person per month, and even then - they probably considered it in the equator region, because in our country 150 dollars does not solve problems.
Knowing these statistics, the laws of economics, that if we increase prices and tariffs at a higher rate than the growth of people's solvency, their real purchasing power, then we are doomed to very serious problems, starting from the growth of debts, which is happening today in the public utilities sector, and ending with the demand once again increase tariff prices for the population,” Kinakh emphasized.
