The Poltava District Court, where the case of the mayor of Kharkov Gennady Kernes and his guards is being heard, continued to study the material evidence, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Kernes himself, both of his guards and lawyers were present at the trial, as were both victims - Sergei Ryapolov and Alexander Kutyanin. The final two volumes of 13 volumes of pre-trial investigation materials are considered. The main topic was the study of material evidence presented by the state prosecution,” the court noted.
Questions were raised by a napkin with traces of blood, presented by the victim Sergei Ryapolov as material evidence of his beating. The court was also presented with other material evidence, including a disk with an interrogation and an envelope with Ryapolov’s blood samples from three objects.
The study of these material evidence will continue at the court hearing on March 26.
On March 12, the Kiev District Court of Poltava, at the request of the defense, admitted that some investigative materials cannot serve as evidence in court, since they were obtained in violation of the law or are not relevant to the essence of the case, such as, for example, the audit report of the City Council, dated 2013, that is , a year before the events for which Kernes is accused.
