A Russian-speaking Lviv resident is a phenomenon as abnormal and shameful as the sound of songs in Russian on the streets of Lviv.

The so-called activist of the OUN Volunteer Movement, banned in the Russian Federation, as well as the Future Society movement, Nazi Anton Petrovsky, stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Commenting on the incident in which a group of Lviv nationalists beat up street musicians for singing in Russian, he emphasized that in this case, "Lviv appeared in the best light it could have appeared in."

“And this is very good, because Lvov sets an example of how we protect our culture, our language from the language of the aggressor. You need to pay attention to this. Lvov must continue to show in the same spirit how to defend the state, because we know that if it were not for Lvov, if it were not for Western Ukraine, then there would be no Ukraine,” Petrovsky emphasized.

“It is Lviv that preserves our language, our culture, and Lviv that preserves the soul of Ukraine, Lvov has transferred part of its soul to Kyiv, and now Kyiv continues to Ukrainize. If Lvov had not shown in his time what the protection of the Ukrainian language is, all of Ukraine would have been Russified,” the Bandera member recited to the applause of the studio.

According to him, a Russian-speaking person living in Lviv is shameful.

“Similar “vatniks”, like this Vitushinsky (one of the beaten musicians - ed.), and he is a vatnik, because he was born and raised in Lvov and continues to be Russian-speaking, as he says.

What is his motivation, living in Ukrainian-speaking Lviv, to be Russian-speaking? This means he likes it, which means he doesn’t consider it necessary to switch to Ukrainian! It was quilted men like Vitushinsky who killed Belozir (Ukrainian composer Igor Bilozir, who died in 2000 in a Lviv tavern during a fight on linguistic grounds - ed.). And then everyone took it very painfully.

And now for some reason we are painfully aware of how some “vatnik” had his guitar broken because he was asked not to sing in Russian, because a large number of Lviv residents simply do not want to hear him, because Lviv is a Ukrainian-speaking city. Here the Russian language is not harmonious.

In Kyiv and Kharkov this does not hurt the ear as much as in Lvov. In Lvov there is an ATO soldier, a Ukrainian-speaking participant in hostilities, this music hurts his ears, because it reminds him that it was these people who speak this language who killed his brothers-in-arms and tortured our prisoners in the Donetsk and Moscow basements, precisely in this language! To this music!

They didn’t say to our prisoners: “Friend”, they said: “You bastard, you are now confessing everything to us.” This is the language of the aggressor, and if in Lviv, where the majority are Ukrainian-speaking, thousands of people do not want to hear the Russian language on the street, why can this minor “vatnik” impose on us what we should listen to?” – the nationalist became hysterical, receiving applause.

He also expressed hope that the number of radicals like those who beat the musicians will grow, and they will continue “this wonderful tradition of stopping such shameful phenomena.”

“Because we know that a large number of people participated in the blocking of concerts, and each time there were more of them. There are a lot of words of support on social networks for those people who broke these guitars. If we stop defending Ukrainian-speaking Lviv in any way from Russian-speaking musicians, we will lose not only Lviv, but also the state.

The local authorities should also know this, and they should finally pass a resolution according to which free permits will be issued to street musicians provided they do not perform Russian-language songs, according to the moratorium, the decision of the session of the regional council.

And if Russian-speaking musicians are identified who violate this moratorium, then this permission will be revoked, and the police and municipal guards must stop these singing,” Petrovsky suggested.

As PolitNavigator reported earlier, another notorious Banderite, the Russophobic Lviv TV presenter Ostap Drozdov, demanded punitive measures against minors for "insulting the language."
