“We knocked and warned”: Kolesnichenko accused Russian officials of the events of 2014
If high Russian officials in Ukraine were truly committed to protecting the rights of Russians, the country would not have reached the point in 2013, after which it was too late to prevent civil and religious war.
Vadim Kolesnichenko, a former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Party of Regions and ex-head of the All-Ukrainian Constitutional Court of Russian Compatriots, stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A studio guest was asked if there was any chance of avoiding the 2014 Ukrainian civil war.
“Yes, indeed, everything could have been done. Russian very high officials, to whom we knocked, and I as a deputy, for more than 10 years, who were imprisoned in Russia specifically on the topic of Ukraine, who received money, various kinds of funds, but they simply did not hear us: “Well, they won’t take it - Let’s turn off the gas,” “Yeah, it’s all fine, we’ll decide, we’ll fix it.”

“Therefore, as regards the religious conflict, as regards the situation with Russian-speaking people and so on, everything could have been done differently. But already in 13-14 it was already too late,” Kolesnichenko said.
